Production efficiencies and cost savings can be realized by any company utilizing robotics. However, those marketplace advantages gained through robotics are often lost due to equipment breakdowns and a lack of expertise in-house.
Gary Knight, Executive Director, San Diego Futures Foundation, will discuss the importance of robotics technology training and robotics repair training. Immediately following Gary Knight's talk will be a industry round table discussion of best practices in Operations and HR.
Gary Knight is the Executive Director of the San Diego Futures Foundationl (SDFF), a 501(c)3 nonprofit established to improve lives in San Diego through technology. SDFF provides equipment, software, training, services, and technical support to San Diego nonprofits, small businesses, and disadvantaged residents. SDFF is working to bridge the digital divide in San Diego, and helps low-income households, people with disabilities, and seniors.
Currently, Knight serves as the Chair for the Escondido Public Library Board of Trustees and as a board member for the Workforce Investment Board. The San Diego Workforce Investment Board (WIB) is a 43-member board that shares responsibility with the Policy Board for overseeing funding and policy development under the Workforce Investment Act. The WIB is particularly focused on identifying labor market needs and developing effective and innovative responses to these needs in the San Diego region.
