Haas TourSan Diego and San Francisco Chapters
Meet with Gene Haas Foundation and
NTMA National Representative in Oxnard.

On August 27, Board members Sean Tillet, Glenn Van Noy, John Riego de Dios and Chapter Executive Cathy Teal met with Kathy Looman, Gene Haas Foundation Administrator, and Emily Lipovan, NTMA National Director, to discuss how the Haas Foundation might support the educational programs sponsored by the Chapters. The Foundation may provide scholarships, grants, technical speakers and sponsor events. If you have any ideas about how we can partner with the Haas Foundation, please email your ideas.

Mike Steinbock from the Haas Factory Outlet in Torrance, conducted a tour of the manufacturing facility in Oxnard after the meeting. The Haas plant produces 63 CNC machines a day which are shipped all over the world. About 50% of Haas business is in the US, and the rest of its business is scattered around the world.

MiraCosta College to maximize benefits to employers with training for new hires and existing employees at their new facility.

MiraCosta College wants to help build your business. Their new Technology Career Institute in a Carlsbad City-owned building will train workers to fill a demand for industrial technicians in North San Diego County. They need to know what you need. Please complete the incredibly short survey (only 10 questions) and tell them what you need, when and how you want it delivered.

Click here to see the resumes of 8/28/14 Graduates.

Last May, we had speakers Cecile Cowan, the Director of the Connection to Work program, Occupational Training Services and Roger Schmitt, an Employment & Training Consultant with RS Consulting, explain how you can get reimbursed for training new hires and existing employees. If you think you want to give some employees additional training, and/or take advantage of these reimbursement programs, please take the survey. Let MiraCosta know what you need. If you want to get reimbursed for the training, let us know if it's for a new hire or existing employees in an  email and we'll put you in touch with the right folks.

In the future, please don't say we didn't ask your opinion if you haven't completed the survey.
